Why Valentine's Day Should NOT Be Celebrated?

In a world filled with customs and traditions, few seek to understand, to research the origin of things. Most accept common practices without question, choosing to do what everyone else does because it is easy, and fashionable.

There are many many young Muslims who eagerly and excitedly look forward to this "Day of Love" and it never once occurs to them to wonder, or to think whether this celebration is something that their religion condones.

Ponder this! In every rak`ah of your prayer, you invoke Allaah  عز و جل to show you the straight path and keep you away from the path of those who have earned His wrath and those who have gone astray. You do this because you recite Surat Al-Faatihah.

This recitation in every rak`ah is one of the pillars of Salaah, or prayer. Reflect on this Du`aa! You ask Allaah عز و جل to keep you away from the way of the Christians and Jews, yet you celebrate their festivals? Where is the sense in that?
